If someone tells you there is one perfect machine for every jobsite, they are probably trying to sell you something. The right choice depends on what you are actually doing. If you are buying or renting a crane for the same project as your excavator, put ground preparation in the budget. Bring outrigger mats. Check the load chart for every configuration. And if you are ever in doubt, stop the lift.
One more thing: do not use an excavator as a crane. I know it happens. I have done it. It feels efficient until the swing is overloaded and the machine starts to tip. That is how a routine lifting task becomes a remembered accident. What I mean is: use the right tool for the lift, not the nearest machine.
How to tell which scenario you are in

- Are you moving dirt or digging foundations? Start with Scenario A.
- Are you producing aggregate or recrushing material? Start with Scenario B.

If you are doing two of these at once, plan each one separately. An excavator can dig and load, but it will not crush rock. A crusher will not dig. A crane is not a bucket carrier. The people who get in trouble are the ones who try to stretch one machine across three roles.
The honest limitation
This whole framework only works if you are dealing with commercial-scale jobs. If you are working in a tight residential backyard, a Kobelco 350 is probably too large. A mini excavator or a compact radius machine will do more for you. And if you only need a crusher for one seasonal job, rent it instead of buying it.
